Wisdom and guidance to support teens on their path through adolescence.

YOUTH Positive is both a philosophy and a way of life, encouraging adolescents to "live positive" and to take an active participatory role in their lives, especially in their education. During the adolescent years, teens are in the prime of their self-development. This set of years (from 14-19) has a greater impact on their future lives than does any other stage in life. Developing a strong sense of self and acquiring a useful set of tools, skills, and abilities is imperative to creating a future where they can thrive and flourish.

YOUTH Positive encourages teens to find, know, and be their very best selves, especially in the midst of personal discoveries, developments, and changes.

How does it do that? By presenting the findings of modern Positive Psychology and adolescent development theory in teen friendly language. And by providing opportunities for each young person to try on these findings for themselves.

"YOUTH Positive brings together theory and practice, rigorous science and practicle advice. This is an important road map for youth--and their teachers--for creating a happier, better world."

YOUTH Positive deserves constant reviewing, rereading and revisiting so that we can be reminded of all it has to offer. It has so many gems and nuggets that it’s hard to apply them all at once. Go back again and again to see what else you can find to apply in your life.

"Ms. Dahl made me want to work harder and learn more because I knew she really was invested in her students as individuals. She made class interesting and 12 years later I still think of her, what she taught me, and how grateful I am for getting to spend 3 years in her classroom."

"YOUTH Positive is a wonderful program that teaches students things that are not usually taught. It opens our eyes and gives us lessons on life that will always be useful, far into the future."
